Baked Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

Baked Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips is a healthier version of the Mexican restaurant classic. A great recipe to get your kids started in the kitchen. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream with a drizzle of honey.

It’s summertime and the living is easy. As the saying goes so does my cooking output. Being a food blogger doesn’t mean that I always like cooking. If you are a dentist do you like coming home and drilling teeth for fun. If you do that is just weird!

In the summertime, I tend to lack in the dinner department. I do a lot of grilling but some nights it is up to the kids to fend for themselves.

Ella was looking for something to make the other day and she decided to make these super simple Baked Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips.

Not really a healthy dinner choice but not too bad for a dessert or snack.

Ella loves to cook and bake in the kitchen so I love when she decides to make new simple recipes. These chips would go great with my White Chocolate Habanero No-Churn Ice Cream or a fruit salsa.

So this summer get your kids in the kitchen and let them enjoy learning to cook and create.

Who cares if they have cold cereal or these Baked Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips with fruit salsa for dinner. Remember it’s summertime and the living is easy.

Baked Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

Ingredients
  • 6 Tbsp. Butter, melted
  • 12 10 inch Flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Ground Cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.

  2. Mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Brush butter on one side of the flour tortillas. Generously sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Repeat on the flip side of the tortilla. 

  4. Arrange tortillas in single layer on baking sheets. 

  5. Bake until crisp, 10 to 12 minutes.

  6. Let chips cool on a wire rack before breaking into pieces. 

  7. Serve with ice cream or whipped topping drizzled with honey.

Store extra cinnamon sugar mixture in a clean seasoning jar or in an air-tight container.
