I can’t believe it is already that time of year again. Where has the year gone? My kids are already on summer break like millions of others. As parents, we are wondering how we are going to keep them busy. With gas prices low, most families will be hitting the road for the annual family vacation. I am more of the planner in our family, and with my Boy Scout background, I also try to be prepared for anything that might happen on the road. I do everything I can to make for a smooth and easy trip.

PetespalaceWe are very lucky to have a place to stay in Florida at the beach. My oldest child is 17, and we have been making the trek even before he was born. With all the trips we’ve taken, I have come up with a Family Road Trip Survival Checklist to make your trip smooth and easy when things go sideways. When traveling with kids, sideways always happens – like the time the luggage fell off the top of the car at 75 mph. Not good!

I always like to be clean and smooth shaven, even on vacation. After I check my Road Trip Survival Checklist and make sure everything is packed and secure, I will take 10 minutes to shower and shave using my Gillette® Mach3® Signature Edition Razor that I purchased at Costco with 14 refill cartridges in addition to the razor. I do this because I am usually very sweaty from getting everyone and everything ready to go. I feel a shower and shave refreshes me and makes for a smooth trip, whatever the road might bring. Follow my Road Trip Survival Checklist to make your family road trip smooth and easy.

I am a huge believer in checklists to make everything go more smoothly. And you don’t want to know the number of times someone has “forgotten” to stop the mail here. Ugh. #client

LOL, Quinn – I think I might have been behind you when your luggage fell off! Seriously, I seem to be the person this kind of thing happens to. I’ve dodged luggage, a Christmas tree, lumber (I did get a flat), a child’s car seat (which scared the heck out of me but there was no child in it) A whole truckload of metal folding chairs that spilled out on the interstate right in front of me (luckily I was suspicious of the load and stayed well back) and just today a tire that came off the back of a jeep.

    Anyway, love the checklist!
