Welcome to my food blog. I started cooking when I was five years old. I created a peanut butter and jelly pie. It got rave reviews (from my mom) and I haven’t stopped cooking and experimenting since. This blog is geared to the everyday busy family, Mom or Dad doing the cooking, who strive to put good food on the table on a daily basis. I try to make the ordinary extraordinary using simple ingredients and keep it as healthy as possible. I have a wonderful wife of 24 years who works full-time. We have three great kids: 12, 14, 17. I have been doing the majority of the cooking for most of our marriage.
Like most we have had our difficulties with jobs, health and positions in life. Due to economic circumstances we switched roles over the last six years. During this time I returned to school and earned another degree and I do my best to run the household. My wife would agree not everything is done the best, but she would agree that no matter what we always have a good, healthy, tasty meal on the table.
Cooking is my joy, passion, gift, hobby, and hopefully a form of income. I enjoying cooking the most when I am giving back and making people happy with food. Food is a large part of our lives. I have spoiled my kids with food. We are members of a dinner group, with great friends, for the past 17 years. I enjoy catering, on a volunteer basis, for local charities. I almost made the cut for Master Chef.
My plan is to create a weekly menu that is easy to follow, using simple ingredients and cooking techniques that will allow you to provide your family with something other than fast food during our busy weekdays. I will also provide recipes for entertaining and other gatherings where life provides cooking opportunities.
