With the holidays close at hand it is time to decide on my menu and drinks to be served. Today I am bringing you a simple recipe for Hot Russian Holiday Tea. During the holidays we always have a big selection of beverages on the buffet, including ice tea. My family loves teas. In the summer we love sweet tea and my kids will drink Arnold Palmer’s (Ice Tea and Lemonade) all year-long. My wife enjoys hot tea every morning. I was at Walmart the other day picking up some supplies to get ready for Thanksgiving and decided to pick up some tea. Walmart was featuring Milo’s tea, from Alabama, so I decided to give it a try. Walmart was running a special, buy 2 gallons of Milo’s Tea for just $5.00.It is starting to get cold around here in southern Ohio, it was 34° yesterday, so I decided to try my hand at a warm spiced tea drink to serve over the holidays. I have always liked wassail, which is more of spiced hot cider, but since I had purchased a few gallons of the Milo’s sweet tea I decided to create a Hot Russian spiced tea for a warm treat instead. The best part about this tea is that it is easily made ahead of time and served right out of the crock pot. To make the Hot Russian Holiday Tea, add all ingredients to the crock pot and then slowly poor in 12 cups of Milo’s Sweet Tea. Stir well to combine. Heat on high for 30 minutes, then reduce heat to low for two hours until ready to serve. Serve hot or cold.
This tea is simply spiced and is the perfect drink served at all of your holiday parties. I served the tea with my Cranberry White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies, recipe coming soon.

Great post Quinn! I’m adding booze to mine. It makes entertaining the family easier.

Thanks Julie! Oh yeah that is what I will be doing also. The sponsor wanted to avoid the addition of booze. The flavors of this tea turned out great. Just keep the crock pot plugged in and the family entertaining should be easy.

Hmmm, I tried to comment on your brie puffs, but the link is not working, and for some reason, I cannot access your Holiday Russian tea either. Is something amiss?
Quinn Caudill says
Hi Loretta, Sorry for the problems. What was the location of the link you were clicking on. Was it from a link party, my email, or on my site. Need to figure it out. Thanks for letting me know.

I believe it was Angie’s Fiesta Friday, I clicked on the picture to reach your post, and it comes up as “page not found”.

Hi Loretta. Sorry I am just now responding your message was sent to the spam folder. If you clicked on a pic it might have been the setting for the url attached to the pic. Also I found some people were having problems because of an AD filter they have activated on their computers. Those posts were sponsored and the sd filters were blocking them. Thanks for thew feedback. Quinn
Loretta says
Actually it was only that particular post that I couldn’t access, normally I can get through all of yours. Not sure what an AD filter is, so I know I didn’t activate it on my computer. I did go back though the next day or 2 days later, and it seemed to have righted itself.

Sounds tasty. I’d like to try it with a bit of dark rum or whisky. Thanks for sharing with us at Funtastic Friday.

I did try it that way but because it was a sponsored post they did not want the recipe associated with alcohol. It was perfect with dark rum. Nice and warm…. Have a great weekend Sherry..
