Sloppy Joe Chuck Roast in the Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 3 lb chuck roast cut in four pieces, fat removed
  • 1 tbsp. homemade dry onion soup mix, or one packet of store bought.
  • 1 (14.5oz) can sloppy joe sauce.
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 6 hoagie rolls
  • cheese
  • mayo
  • pickles

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker.

  2. Cook on low for 6 hours.
  3. Remove meat and shred with two forks. return to slow cooker and stir to combine.
  4. Cook on low for another 30 minutes until heated through.
  5. Heat broiler on high.
  6. Place hoagie rolls on baking sheet.
  7. Spread 1 tablespoon mayo on bottom roll.

  8. Add one piece of cheese to top roll.
  9. Heat under broiler until cheese is melted.
  10. Add meat and pickles to hoagie roll and enjoy.

Recipe Notes

-The nutritional label includes store bought dry onion soup mix. (High Sodium).
-1 serving includes hoagie bun and 1 slice of cheese.
