Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. ground chuck 80/20
  • 4 ounces grated mild cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • Hamburger buns
  • Dill pickle slices
  • Mayo

Instructions

  1. Weigh out the meat portions in 2.5 ounce balls.
  2. Grate the cheese and toss with the spices until all the powder sticks to the cheese.
  3. Form one ball into a patty. Top with 1.5 tablespoons of cheese mixture.
  4. Top the cheese with another patty and press to form into one burger.
  5. Chill until ready to grill.
  6. Heat your clean grill on high.
  7. Place burger on grill over direct heat. Grill for 7 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 155°F.
  8. Top buns with some cheese blend and place on grill until cheese are melted.
  9. Place burger on a bun with mayo and a pickle.
